Plates 101 - Wheel Throwing
No experience needed! 6 weeks Sundays 10am - 1pm
Service Description
In this beginner-friendly wheel throwing class, students will learn fundamental throwing, trimming, and glazing techniques as they relate to plates, how to approach shaping different parts of a plate’s anatomy, as well as surface design and carving methods for making their flat pieces extra special. We will explore traditional types of plates like dessert and dinner plates, but also serving platters, spoon rests, and trays with handles. This course includes up to 25 lbs. of clay, use of studio tools and 5 Open Studio passes, giving students extra time outside of class time to practice! Just show up ready for fun learning!
Cancellation Policy
Students who wish to withdraw must do so within two weeks of the class start date to receive a full refund. To withdraw, please email brittanydias@riclayspace.com. Classes include non-transferable Open Studio passes that must be used within the session. Unused passes expire at the end of the session. Exceptions may be made at the studio owner’s discretion. By enrolling, students agree to follow all studio policies—respecting one another, caring for the space, and contributing positively to our ceramic community. RI Clay Space provides adult ceramics classes, and all students must be 18 years or older to enroll. Thank you for your support—we look forward to creating with you!
