Service Description
Methods for Mug is a beginner-friendly ceramics class designed for students with no prior experience. In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the foundational handbuilding techniques of slab, coil, and pinch pot construction while creating your own unique, functional mugs. Through step-by-step guidance, students will explore how to shape, assemble, and refine clay using these different methods. You’ll gain an understanding of the materials, form, structure, surface design, and proper attachment techniques. This 6 week class includes clay and 5 Open Studio Passes, giving you extra time outside of scheduled class sessions to practice.

Cancellation Policy
Students who wish to withdraw must do so within two weeks of the class start date to receive a full refund. To withdraw, please email brittanydias@riclayspace.com. Classes include non-transferable Open Studio passes that must be used within the session. Unused passes expire at the end of the session. Exceptions may be made at the studio owner’s discretion. By enrolling, students agree to follow all studio policies—respecting one another, caring for the space, and contributing positively to our ceramic community. RI Clay Space provides adult ceramics classes, and all students must be 18 years or older to enroll. Thank you for your support—we look forward to creating with you!
